Some of our patients may need to make significant lifestyle changes in order to best implement and benefit from the healing power of functional medicine. Change can sometimes be difficult to realize, so having a “helping hand“ in the form of a health coach can be a complete game changer in achieving you health goals! Here at Squirrel Hill Family Wellness Center we are so very pleased to have Hyla Urbany on staff as our Practice Manager and health Coach to bolster your health endeavors with her amazing 5-week health coach program that each patient may elect to add to their experience with us.
Hyla Urbany – Certified Holistic Health Coach
Health coaching is a process that facilitates healthy, sustainable behavior change through goal setting, support and lifestyle changes. It’s the newest branch of medicine that can help to reduce the costs of chronic disease and provide better patient outcomes.
Hyla earned her health coaching credentials at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC and is board certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She is also trained in First Line Therapy to help patients with metabolic syndrome.
She has worked with a wide range of patients: men and women from 25-85 with obesity, food addiction, binge eating disorder, type 2 diabetes, autoimmunity, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and other conditions.
She works with patients on the lifestyle changes that they’ll need to make in order to reach optimal health: their diet, movement, sleep, stress management and connection. She leads by example and knows what it’s like to do the work that she’s asking her patients to do. Being solution oriented, she’ll give you the best strategies for implementing these changes that will work with your life and situation. Hyla also creates workshops from time to time to educate our patients and new comers on topics that will impact their health and well-being.
In her free time, she’s reading yet another health, wellness or personal development book, listening to endless podcasts, taking an urban hike or planning her next trip or excursion.
